Hi Gourav,

Kindly follow the following steps to create plant(called as Location in APO) in APO.

1. Go to transaction /sapapo/loc3

2. Check for the location with the name starting with PL0001*

3. You can you this plant as reference and create your own location.

4. You can maintain the General and Address tab fields according to your requirement.

Fore more details kindly go through the following link.

Thanks,

Hi,

Its always better to copy from an existing plant.

If you are creating a new plant then u can use the below poerpoint:

http://help.sap.com/bp_bl604/BBLibrary/Documentation/101_Scen_overview_EN_IN.ppt

and config's guide:

Hi Gourav

You can create it two ways:

  • If you are using ECC & APO, then through integration models (CFM1 & CFM2, create IM & Activate the same). In ECC also there are different options,
    • if you select plant and create IM then it will be reflected as plant in APO with location type 1001.
    • If you create IM for customer then it will also be plant with location type 1010
    • And same way if IM for vendor then it would be 1011.

Check below link for further understanding

Integration of Locations - Integration via APO Core Interface (CIF) - SAP Library

  • Second if you are creating in APO directly then you need to select location type and create it accordingly.

Location - SAP Library

I hope it clarifies your query. Close the thread accordingly.

Hi Gourav,

Are you using ECC and APO or just APO?

In the first variant the best way is to send the plants from ECC to APO by CIF (t.code: CFM1 to create  and CFM2 to activate).

In the second case you use t.code /SAPAPO/LOC3. The plants must be assigned to active model 000.

Thanks,

Hi Gourav,

Plants, Distribution centers etc. are all treated as Locations in SAP APO with different Location Type.

In order to create plant directly in APO - go to transaction /SAPAPO/LOC3 - give the name of plant and Location type as 1001 for production plant.

Alternatively, if plant is there in ECC, you can have it CIF directly to APO via Integration Model - CFM1/CFM3.

Hope it helps.

Alok
