Hi All,

We are planning to have central job control; like holding and releasing jobs at one gto centrally from SAP solution manager for satellite systems. But we do not have solman 7.1 and currently operating on solman 701. Could you please share if its possible to have that control in solman 701 as well, if yes, any process document for that 701 version will be helpful.

Soon; in future ; we have plan to move to solman 7.1. There; we definitely want to use this functionality. But; as per some doumentaion found on the same; we need to have a separate redwood component which is paid. Could you please share if there is any document or list of possiblilites related to central  job control in solman 7.1 without having redwood component. We do not need all services provided by redwood; and want to check what all we will be able to do without that

Thanks

Varun

Solman 7.01 is not the present or the future.

Please update your system to 7.1 as 7.2 is coming soon..!!

Thanks Divyanshu for documentation.

Yes; we are upgrading to solman 7.1 soon.

As per one blog; it was found that the feature offered by redwood CPS are paid and we have got a confirmation from management that we are not getting any additional paid service other than upgrade to solman 7.1.

Could you please help if there is any list of features of job scheduling manage, ment we will be able to use without having any additional/paid redwood adaptor patch

Thanks

CPS Redwood and Solman works together to complete job management suite.

I believe you need a license to utilize feature of this.

Thanks Divyanshu

We have also searched for documentation on the same, but most relates to redwood component related paid license service. As per note 1117355 - Job Scheduling Management: Work Center we should have the license. As per few other notes found; its possible for solman 701 as well.

But we could not find anything which mentions whether there is any possibility of using basic features without redwood paid component or not. We need only basic features like centrally being able to hold/release jobs. It will be helpful if ther eis any such documentation on that; or its must to have a separate paid license key to use that feature at all

Thanks

Hello Varun

The Solman JSM - Work Center has the plug-in for Redwood (CPS) so that all ALM activities can be performed in SOLMAN. This does not mean that you can use CPS without paying for the licenses.

Solman 7.1 has plug-ins to other job scheduling tools as well not just for CPS.

In short if you need central job scheduling tool you will need to pay

I hope this is clear

Hi Varun,

If you are using standalone CPS you can avail free license features if you are not sequencing the job chain between systems.

Thanks a lot Raja for the correct answer. Got the details from your table now and based on that; could search CPS administration guide as well from which I could find that for basis schedulign features centrally; we do not need to pay anything. Different paid and unpaid features are also depicted in the link you gave.

Thanks again for guiding in right direction
