VDS_HOME environment variable

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the VDS_HOME environment variable.  There is a reference to this variable in the Installation guide with regards to defining the location of the KEYS.ini file, but that is the only reference I can find to the variable.  I'm not sure how important this environment variable is or even how it is used.

What I would like to know is:

- How / where the environment variable is used.

- How it should be maintained.  Should it be the home directory of my VDS installation e.g. D:\usr\sap\<SID>\Virtual Directory Server or should it be the location of my keys.ini file.

Any feedback or pointers would be great.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Patrick,

I have never used that environment variable until now.

You can specify your keys.ini file path in VDS.

Tools -> Options -> General (tab)

Kind regards,

Thanks Jai,

I already have the VDS Management Console configured.

What sparked my curiosity was the installation instructions in relation to standalone mode (Standalone Mode - SAP Identity Management Installation Guide - SAP Library).

At this stage I don't have a requirement to use this standalone option.  I was just intrigued about the VDS_HOME environment variable as it's not something that is currently set.

Thanks for your response though.
