Hi, We are using ECC 6.0 and DB2 9.1 on AIX 5.3. Both DEV and QAS instances were installed on one single machine(host). Now are going to take the backup of those Database instances using third party db2 backup client software. But it is taking only one instance ie. (DEV). So can we create one db admin user for both database instance and how we can achive it? Please do help us regarding this? Thanks and Regards, R Rajavelu
A combined backup of both the instances simultaneously is not possible, you have to take two backups for two database instances dev/QAS.
Thank you,
Dev

Hi Bhudev Sharma, Thanks for your reply. You are correct, we have to take the backup of each database instances separately. But I am asking, can we create one db user for both the database instances and will give the same db user to third party backup software. Then it will identify the two datbase instances in single host machine. then only I can take the backup of both the db instance by separately. Thanks and Regards, R Rajavelu
Hi Rajavelu
Could you please provide the you third party software detail.
Thanks
Sadiq
