SAP Lumira Bex Query Connectivity

Hello Experts,

I have installed SAP Lumira desktop 1.25(client), when I try to connect to SAP BW, it gives me unknown error. Do I need to have Lumira server installed to connect to BW? I was trying to read admin guide but didn't find anything there.

Murali - is it a brand new install of the latest patch?

I believe the issue may be Lumira is looking for the saplogon.ini file which doesn't ship any more with SAP Gui 7.40

I don't know of a resolution; I recommend opening an incident with SAP Support to fix

Please see if any of the following will help:

• Ensure SAP GUI 7.40 or higher is used.
• Ensure that the BW connections, exposed in Lumira Desktop, are picked up from SAP Logon running on the same computer.
• Ensure that  Lumira Desktop and SAP Logon are of the same platform architecture (32-bit vs. 64-bit).
• The architectures must match especially if the connections are configured in SAP Logon to use SNC.

Hi guys,

I know this post is old but i am having almost the same issue.

I upgrade Lumira with SP 1.28.2 update and the BW option is to query option is disappeared from the connection , please see the attached screenshot.

can anyone please advise how do I connect Lumira 1.28.2 with bex query.

Ron - it is a closed thread; did you download the BW extension panel  - see ?  Did you scroll down?

Hi Murali,

You don't need to have lumira server to connect to BW from lumira desktop.

Also check whether we you able to use these connections in other BI tools, Bex Query Designer etc.
