Delete option "Service" in Item Type from PO without effecting Old PO service items

Hi All,

I have below requirement, in which I have to delete option "Service" in Item type from POs,without effecting already created POs(Old) with service items & also whenever copy the service items, the new item should default with item type "Material".

Already I checked this  link http://scn.sap.com/thread/3424447  but it solves only delete the "Service" from item type dropdown only, but it is not working for already created POs with Service items,

Whenever i remove the code related to service using above link, it is showing '02' instead of 'Service' for already created POs with Service. Please find below screenshot.

Hi,

Instead of removing "Service" from the existing, You can create a new transaction type and remove "Service" option.

so it will avoid issues related to old documents.

Thanks for your quick response.

I do not want to remove "Service" from existing POs.

While editing the old PO, for Old line items "Service" should be avaliable and  for new line items "Service" shouldn't be avaliable in dropdown.
