Hi Expert,
For a client, there employees are submitting leave request through ESS when their salary is processed however they don't approve it when their salary is on process,
But system is throwing error when employee is applying for leave only when the payroll is being processed.Any other time when leave is applied system is processing correctly.
Am attaching file showing error detail.
Need your suggestion that as per standard process , the employee should not apply leave when payroll is processed.Or is it fine that they can apply leave when payroll is processed.
If they can apply for leave when payroll is processed, then kindly throw light on why this error that is coming.

As far I know it is standard behaviour when control record status is released for Payroll System does not allow us to maintain master data, Further the error which is appearing in the attached screen shot is not Satandard one, according to the requirement they must have implemented BADI.
Go through the system you will get an idea.

When the payroll runs. master data is locked.. so no chance of amendment to any master data.. even system doesnt allow.
Error looks like custom one.. please check with abap consultant to find the cause.

When the payroll is being processed, the master data is locked. Since the change to master data is not allowed, employees should not be booking leave it this time.
As far as the error goes, it looks to be some custom error and not a standard one. You may check with your abap consultant for the user exits or other codes written in backend for the same.

Employee would not able to apply leave from portal in standard configuration. If you have not changed the configuration then user has confused. It will anyway allow to apply reave request in future period when control record is locked.
But we can allow user to allow to create leave request through below customisation.ok this is a relatively simple one, let me explain how we did this in my last project: do the necessary customizing in SPRO to suppress the error message under ESS->Service Specific
Settings->Leave Request->Processing Processes->Configure Output
messages. With this change we are able convert the error message into a
warning and allow the leave request to happen.
You can use this table ie HRWEB_TRANS_MESS
error message HRTIM00BLPRETRO 015
or you can also do it via BADI PT_BLP_RET_MESS
Read the note 923423 for the BADI
Please note but still rptarqpost cant post the records when the payroll
is locked its same functioning as PA30, you cant change the record
during payroll locking.
