IDM 8.0 installation with MS SQL Server 2014 Express

Hello everyone,

the installation guide for SAP IDM 8.0 says that following databases are supported:

• MS SQL Server 2008 (or higher)
• MS SQL Server 2012 (or higher)

Now my question is:

Can I also use MS SQL Server 2014 Express Edition as database?

Hi,

MS SQL 2014 is not yet officially in the Product Availability Matrix, but it is on the roadmap.

Also Express edition has some limitations which you should consider if it fits your needs.

Hi,

Can you install to the same database you have NetWeaver on? That might be a good workaround.  Personally, I've never had much success with the Express Databases.

Also you can download a 180 day eval of SQL Server 2012 for free, which might also be a good work around.
