Cost estimate

Dear Experts,

I basically want to understand the difference between cost planning in PS & cost estimate. Reason being I am aware about the different types of cost planning, for instance, we can plan costs by unit costing or n/w costing , but how can I ,say for eg., include packaging costs for a material (FG) of size "a x b x c" which will be packed in cartons of size "f x g x h" , hence calculating that the "N"materials will be packed in 1 carton & simultaneously "N" cartons will be required. Here too, a wild guess is that ECP wont suffice as the material size will vary for each project.

Kindly suggest.

BR.

Hi BR.

For activity with each material (FG), also include component carton & Other packing stuff to accommodate their cost on to the activity.

I think you should try ECP before saying it "wont suffice"...  Anyway even before ECP you need to formalise the calculation based on given input variables.
