MDM repository cannot logon: invalid object state

Hi experts,

I've encountered an MDM error when trying to logon to a repository, which was right up and running well moments ago, while some other repositories are still accessable.

The error msg shows: Repository connect failed. Error: Invalid object state.

The project DBA could not tell anything but "the server is up and running just like before".

I ruled out the possibility of using wrong password cos that's gonna to lead to a different error msg - let me know if that's wrong.

Any one has a clue on what's happening to this?

Hi Anqi,

The issue is related to Data Base server. Try to unmount and mount repository again.

Thanks so much Dilmeet, actually this is not the first time I face the same problem.

May I know further the root cause of this error?

As per my DBA, the master server was up and running as normal even when the error happens. So what could possibily cause this, and what can we do to avoid this from happening?

Hi Anqi,

Following could be one of the reasons when you trying to login:

• Repository is busy in either heavy import or syndication or archive/unarchive processing.
• DB Schema Password is expired or is wrong.
• DB user is locked.
• Listener is down.
