Hello SCN community,

Is it assumed that IS-Retail is mandatory for using SAP CAR?

SAP materials show ERP is mandatory, may I presume that it should be IS-Retail?

Hello Mahbubur,

IS-Retail is not mandatory as the ERP system behind SAP CAR.

SAP CAR needs an ERP system to provide basic master data, transactional data and stock information. If I am not mistaken SAP CAR 1.0 could only run on a SAP ERP system (not really dependent on a specific industry solution such as IS Retail), however, with 2.0 you can even intergrate CAR with a third-party ERP system!

Hello Tomas,

Thank you very much for the detailed information. I have understood SAP CAR v2.0 can work with out IS-Retail, even with 3rd party ERPs.
