Solved: DISP+WORK issue on SAP IDES EHP4

Dear all,

I recently installed SAP IDES EHP4 version in my laptop (4GB ram, 75 GB pagingfile size, I7, windows 7 ultimate x64).

I've been able to start and work under the system but now, i can't log on. i've tried to logon from sap mmc, saplogon, without success.

I noticied that in the sap mmc the disp+work start for a moment and stop for unknow reason!

Could you please help me to figure out this issue, i've performed many actions to try to resolve, and as i'm not good in basis and administration, your suggestions will be very helpful.

Hi,

I found nothing in the recycle bin. i feel that the database is invisible. Whatever, i'm trying now to install a new central instance only because reinstalling the whole system will take 2 days.

Hi Sriram,

In fact, it's about the database. I deleted the dialog instance and by mistake the database!!!!!! ;(

Could you tell me what i have to do now please because i'm lost.

I don't think that i have a backup for the database.

Dear all,

sometimes the same problem occurs i don't know how and why. And after stoping and restarting instance i could connect through sap gui.

It's really annoying but better than nothing....

Issue has been fixes by starting the second instance that it was added after the installation of Dialog instance.

1. Nope, i've installed windows with that hostname, SAP ides too.

2. Yes, but in vain.

3. Yes of course, it is already maintained by this :

But now, through de developper trace on disp+work.exe (MMC interface), i see the following errors :

Could you please show me how to correct the loopback ip for localhost ?

In fact, i've executed the niping -v in my sidadm session and the result is :

hostname for local computer : MYZ-PC

--------

lookup of hostname : MYZ-PC

IP address : 10.49.229.162

Lookup of IP-Address : 10.49.229.162

IP address : MYZ-PC

lookup of hostname : localhost

IP address : 127.0.0.1

lookup of ip-address : 127.0.0.1

IP address : MYZ-PC

I think the problem is related to the lookup of 127.0.0.1 that refer to MYZ-PC instead of localhost

I've also installed the MS loopback adapter, but i'm not sure about how to configure it.

Dear Gaurav,

i've just increased my physical ram and i'm now under 12GB instead of 4GB.

I think now i have to correct the issue related to loopback adress as you mentionned.

I'm checking the sap note. Get back to you asap

One more suggestion here is related with Memory

4GB ram

Suggest you to increase this value with higher or permissive (as per configurations of your laptop ),as per me this much of boost may be the reason of the issue.

Your device needs more powers to overcome this issue.

Hi,

With the above would like to check for host entries,if possible try to edit or set host entries as like


127.0.0.1  localhost.localdomain  localhost
<Server IP>  <Host Name>

After these modifications try to restart the system & check again,if still issue persists re-share both the files i.e trans.log & dev_w0.

In addition follow SAP Note 1054467 - Local host name refers to loopback address
