Hi experts, i'm running solman_setup to get a new solman system working, but in the phase Check secure web browser  comm. (https) i don't know what manual activities i have to do, i have searched in the community, checked the documentation and i didn't find anything to know what to do here. Will this step impact in a later step or system malfunctioning ? Can i safely skip it? does any of you have any suggestions of what to do?

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you

Hi Luis,

As Ruth wrote, SAP recommends to always use HTTPs protocol for communication with SAP systems.

SSL implementation is not a difficult task. Please find the below links to do it.

Configuring the AS ABAP for Supporting SSL - Network and Transport Layer Security - SAP Library

Setting the Profile Parameters for Using SSL - Network and Transport Layer Security - SAP Library

Cryptographic Library is already coming with SAP Kernel 7.21 and will be installed in your Solman 7.1. Just verify the Crypto library parameters in RZ10.

Only ICM parameters and HTTPs Service creation is required to be done to activate the HTTPs.

Also DAA agents would be required to connect using HTTPs port.

Dear Luis,

Check Secure Web Browser Communication (HTTPS)

SAP recommends that you always use HTTPS protocol for communication with your SAP systems. In this activity you check your HTTPS system settings.

Please read the activity documentation for more details.

Here is a link to an SCN Blog which should also be helpful to you.
