ASN ID length limit

Hi Experts,

I'm facing an issue when creating ASN automatically in SNC via flat file from our freight forwarder company.

We are having some data populated in the flat file for the field "LIFEX"(External Identification of Delivery Note) which is same as ASN ID in SNC.

However when posting the XML in SNC using the standard interface "DespatchedDeliveryNotification_In",the ASN ID throws an error if it has a value more than 10 characters.

LIFEX field in ECC has a limit of 35 characters so not sure why it is not allowed to have the same character limit in SNC too?

Has anybody faced a similar issue?

Hi Andy,

The ASN number length doesn't exceed the value specified in the attributes of the number range interval. If no length is specified in the attributes of the number range interval, the ASN number length does not exceed the SAP ERP inbound delivery number length (that is, 10 characters). (Check SAP note 1174518)

It seems you have not specified in the attributes.
