hi
my development server kernel is 640 patch level is 109 .now am upgrading the 109 to 155 . it is possible to direct 109 to 155 .otherwise am upgrade one by one means 109 after,139,155.
my sap version is 4.7 EE
database is oracle 9i.
in service market place there are two version of r/3 enterprise edition kernel
1 47x110
2 47x200
what is difference . and how to check which is the my system version.

Check System->Status-->Sap System Data then Click Component information Now you see the Patch level of system.And For Kernel information(Shift+F5)
Also SPAM Tcode See patch level

1.how to check which is the my system version?
In SAP menu, select System> Status> Other kernel info( Next to Navigate button). Here, you can see your Kernal release and support package level.
2. it is possible to direct 109 to 155?
Kernel update is nothing but upgrading all the SAP related executable files. To my knowledge, you can directly go for higher version provided you check the product availability matrix with your current R/3 , OS and DB version.

you can directly apply patches from 109 to highest available for example 155
no need to go step by step
and kernel upgrade depends on kernel version i.e,640 you can goto any of the below to upgrade your kernel see that before doning this take a back up of old kernel and all the prerequsits are meet.
