Two BW system/application/landscape on single HANA Box

Hello Experts,

We have two BW landscape 1 for US and  1 for UK. Our UK BW landscape is migrated to SAP HANA. Now we want to migration for US BW landscape.

Can we use the same HANA server for US BW? If yes, is it possible to do HANA modelling containing data for US and UK in a single model without using Smart Data Access.

Dear Rakesh,

You can do migrate you US and UK BW system to seperate multitenant container in a HANA system.

Cross-database read only queries between multitenant database containers are possible.

Hi Rakesh,

This is possible. The steps are below:

1. Do a hana sizing for BW US
2. Upgrade your UK BW on HANA to a new hana server with keeping US sizing in mind
3. Move transport from US BW to UK BW using a mass transport movement tool called ShuttleShuttle. You can also do this manually without tool by capturing objects in separate transport
4. Also, use a tool Chamelion to check for overlap in objects and the change in name or merging of objects. This again can be done as a manual effort without tool
5. Lastly pull data via data sources either through ReLine tool by SAP or manually. This tool is a licensed tool
6. Also do remember to set up a PCA connection after system copy of US BW to UK BW

Those are the high level steps. A very challenging project but helps you in consolidation of BW systems.
