"Could not find any data to display" when Key figure is with "Always Hide" option in display property

Hi,

After upgrade to BW731-SP14 from SP04, seeing an issue in the Bex output if display property of a Key figure is changed to "Always Hide". Where as the same report used to display the output even with Key figure is hidden in earlier versions. Not sure if it is due to upgrade or any other.

In detail : A bex query is designed by hiding a Key figure, a formula variable is created in which this key figure is used. Formula variable is made to display always where as key figure is made to hide always. So in the output, only 1 column(Formula variable) should be displayed. This report worked fine earlier but its now displaying the message "Could not find any data to display" inspite of data available for output. Tried the option "Suppress Zeros" to Do Not suppress also.

Part of trials, if key figure is made available for display then output is seen for the report but which is displaying 2 columns i.e, Formula variable and Key figure, but requirement is to have only formula variable column in the output.

Thanks

Prithvi

Hi Prithviraj,

As you are getting the issue after upgrading to BW731 SP14.

You should follow below SAP note completely.

Please apply the corrections and recommendations of this note which can help for your issue.

Hi Prithvi,

Can you please clarify regarding whether the problem mentioned here also occurs when executing the relevant Query by going to relevant BW Backend system -> transaction RSRT -> enter relevant Query (Technical Name of the Query) with Query Display as List/HTML and clicking on button Execute?

If no and if the problem occurs only while executing the Query from the web side, can you please check the following:

1)Can you please clarify regarding what is  the Release, SP and Patch Level applied to BI Java components?

Please note that Patch Level 0 is not supported for BI Java components as per the SAP KBA Note

1899396 - Patch Level 0 for BI Java Installation - Detailed Information

Please note that following are the BI Java components depending upon the Release you are using:
Netweaver 7.0, 7.01, 7.02:

BI-BASE-S
BI-WEBAPP

Netweaver 7.3, 7.31, 7.4:

BI-BASE-B
BI-BASE-E
BI-BASE-S
BI-WEBAPP
BI-IBC

2)Also, please refer the following SAP Note:
2019725 - BEx Web 7.3+: No data is displayed after chaning the filter value in relation with using Document Member Caching

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Prithvi,

I would set the key figure to "hide, can be shown".

Hi Prithvi,

Try to regenerate the query in RSRT and see if you can get data.

Do you have another query which has KF as 'always hide' and execute it, if this query also would not show data, then issue is related to patch problem. Search for a suitable sap note and apply it.

Try to run the same query in Dev/QA and see if you can get data.

Vengal.

Hi Vengal,

Tried your instructions, but it is behaving the same. Executed other report by hiding the key figure and seeing resutls without any issue, the scenario which i mentioned is only not working as expected.

Thanks
