Good day everyone.

I'm trying to start learning about HANA,  is there a way to get the package to install it on premise on my own lab server?

Hi,

If you are looking for a on premise version of SAP HANA, download SAP HANA Platform Edition from SAP Service Marketplace - Home and install on a supported environment. Note that software carries a temporary license with a validity, so before the this license expiry, get a Permanent License from http://service.sap.com/licensekey.

It seems I have no access to download HANA from my marketplace account, so I did create the cloud account and will start to work using the trial instance.

Given that you just want to learn HANA and installation of HANA requires a certified appliance. I would recommend you the following.

Please do start your HANA journey with the HANA Cloud trial account for free as explained in Getting your free HANA Trial Instance on HCP

Later you may get your own HANA appliance from Amazon as explained in http://go.sap.com/developer/tutorials/setup-hana-for-cloud.html
