Short Text
JAVA not running after System Copy
Long Text
Hi,
We did a system copy of ABAP+JAVA using NW04s SAPINST for PI(XI) DR
creation. After successful export and import JAVA is not running.
Message opened (0000293944 2007) but there is no response for that
message and hence opening with High Priority.
I am able to start ABAP but JAVA is not running.
-
Source System is a Distributed System and Target system is Central
System and it is homogenious system copy.
System copy process is completed successfully without any issue.
-
I used a note to resolve one of the issue.
SAP Note Number 966752 - Java system copy problems with the Java
Migration Toolkit
SOURCE.PROPERTIES file in JAVA export directory was not having
entry : 'src.ci.host=<host name>',
-
Manually added the entry and finished the target system
installation.
-
I am atatching the WORK directory logs as well as installation logs for
your analysis. Please check and help me in resolving my issue.
For the target system I used Virtual Host Name instead of local host
name and I think that is not at all an issue.

Rajkumar

Hi,
You haven't understood my point. I have a production system which is pipci.sac.flextronics.com and a DR system with host name pipcir.sjc.flextronics.com.
Now after performing system copy the DR system is still pointing to host pipci.sac.flextronics.com instead of pipcir.sjc.flextronics.com.
Since it is connecting pipci.sac.flextronics.com the GW connections on that host are maxing out which should not happen.
Regards,
Rajkumar

Hello,
From the current error this appears to be a gateway issue. I have
transfered the matter to my colleagues in the Gateway team for further
examination.

Since this is XI system where exactly changes needs to be performed in order to eliminate errrors on production system. JAVA is now running. Yesterday night only I could figureout the error but it gives gateway errrors and production system is having issues when I start DR for tests since some entries in JAVA are still pointing the source system which is used for system copy.

Hi Rajkumar,
please check the bindHost property of the dispatcher's P4 service
in the configtool. There must be an IP defined which does not belong to
the J2EE host anymore.
Please check both, the global and local settings of the P4 service in
the configtool.
I hope you find the incorrect entry.
Kind regards,
Jozsef Bola

Any one faced such issue and resolved it. If I need to resolve this issue what exactly needs to be done?
- Rajkumar
Hi,
I could resolve the issue since there were lot of issues after system copy.
1. During distribued to Cenrtal system - system copy.
You need to combine both DB and CI export copies in one folder during which one thing can happen.
SOURCE.PROPERTIES - this file will be there in DB export JAVA folder and also CI export JAVA folder where
DB SOURCE.PROPERTIES file doesn't have an entry of "src.ci.host". This will stop the SAPINST with error and after modifying the file "SOURCE.PROPERTIES" Traget System Copy finishes without any issue.
Then after this stage I encountered an issue with bind hosts entry in config tool which was due to virtual host name usage in my HACMP setup due to whcih JAVA gives a startup problem.
I eliminated this issue also.
After JAVA started I faced an issue with XI related navigations.
ecchangeProfile url still had an entry of Production System. This may be a bug.
After changing that entry, exchangeProfile was downloaded but it had all the source system host entries which were manually changed.
Now I can access all the XI related navigations.
I need to also perfrom SGEN and Profiles import.
-
Do I need to change any additional settings after this so that my production and DR can work without any issue?
Do you have any additional checks which I can perfrom to ensure my DR systems consistency before I start the log shipping from Production?
Regards,
Rajkumar
