Item Catogry Determination

Hai all,

can any one suggest me why my order type ZKOR for the item PC-101 determining the Item Catogry group LIES insted of ZKIG

here are the screen shots can any one suggest me what would be the mistake

There are always diffrence between the Item category group and item category.

Item category group will help to determine item category.

What we are entering into the material master "sales org 2 view". That is an item category group.

Now come to Item category determination (VOV4)

For first line ZKOR - ZKIG - Blank - Blank - Maitain here ZKIG

But first check do u have item category in ZKIG in vov7? If not then first maintain, then only system will allow u to create item category determination as I mention.

After that, raise order and check.

Hai Kiran,

T184 table store the item category determination records.

1. Check in se16 - T154 whether ther entry for that order type is avialble.

2. Please check whether you are entering the item category or it gets determined automactically.

3. Delete the VOV4 - particular combination and create again.

Hi kiran,

the possible reason for this is  while creation of  material master in mm01-you might have chosen material type as service.

try creating the material master with other material type( ex fert-finished goods) and replace the item cate grp norm with zkig and save the MMR.

Now run the same scenario and check.

yeh ther is one service material in bill of material

ok so i removed it but it now showing this one

though pc-101 and one more monitor have same item catogry
pc-101 has bill of material

Hi Kiran,

Got your point,( you had mentioned monitor also having the same item category...)

where as in BOM concept your main item and sub items shall have different item categories rather than same. because we can have either header pricing or item pricing, not the both.

please follow the below steps to correct the situation

1. create a copy of item category TAE as "ZXX" through vov7 tcode

2. go to vov4 tcode and maintain  ZKOR ZKIG - ZKIO ZXX ( Keep usage field as blank)

3. remove ZKOR ZKIG ZKIU - ZKIO

4.remove ZKOR ZKIG ZKIU ZKIO ZKIO combinations

now try to create a order...

HI kiran,

In BOM material we have main product (ex pc) and components of the main product.(mouse, monitor, RAM etc)

if we want to explode BOM at order level 2 ways to explode the pricing.

1. only main product pricing you want to consider or

2. only components pricing you want to consider

to differentiate this we need to configure 2 different item categories for Main product as well as components..

Did you check the assignment of item categories in SPRO settingsfor sale document type at item level.

SPRO-->IMG-->Sales&distribution-->sales-->sale documents-->sale document item-->assign item categories.

you need to maintain  item category group in sales.org 2 view it should be ZKIG

ZKIG thenyou need to maintain item category determination in VOV4 with the

above combination then it will determine automatically
