Hi experts,

I have a query and i don't know if it is possible or not??

My Client has Solution manager 7.0 SPS 16 and he wants to connect SAP Netweaver 7.0 SPS 24 Portal System (Java) in SMSY - Solution Manager. i was looking for solutions but no suitable solution found. The solutions found through google, i am getting different screens and different procedures.

Now i am not sure about this connection is possible or i need to upgrade Version/SPS.

If you have any solution, please help me.

regards

Hims

Hello Hims,

Part of the reason you may not be finding much documentation is that your client's version of Solution Manager is out-of-date and no longer supported. The current release of SolMan, 7.1, doesn't really use SMSY anymore, so most of the current advice or documentation is going to talk about methods that don't really work in SolMan 7.0, which does use SMSY.

As Shahid says, the first step is to make sure the portal is registered in SLD, which may or may not be configured on the SolMan system (it probably is). So, to check that, first logon to the portal console and open up Visual Administrator. Navigate to Serverx -> Services -> SLD Data Supplier. On the Information tab you will see whether this is configured or working already or not (i.e., latest send timestamp and result, parameters used for the send, et). If it is not configured, or not working, then on the HTTP Settings (Data Supplier) tab, enter the host, port, user, and password for the SLD connection. The hostname is likely your SolMan host, the port is probably 50000 (for http) or 50001 (for https), the user will either be SLDDSUSER or SLD_DS_<sldSID> (find this user in the UME of the SLD). If you want to use https, then the trust store must point to a key storage location that includes a CA that signed the certificate of your SLD server. Save this data.

On the CIM Client Generation Settings tab, enter the same information. Host and port will be the same. The user may be the same, or may be different (i.e., SLD_CL_<sldSID>, or SLDAPIUSER). Save and press the CIMClient Test button.

If that test is successful, then at the top of the screen, just above the Runtime tab, you'll see a lightning bolt button with a popup on mouseover indicating it triggers a send to SLD. Press that, then check on the Information tab for the result. If that looks good, logon to the SLD (http://<solmanhost>:50000/sld) and check the technical systems to see the portal showing up with an updated timestamp.

That will get you halfway there. SLD should be synchronizing with SMSY in SolMan, but to be honest, it has been a while since I worked in SMSY.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Himanshu,

You can point your portal SLD to Solman SLD and push the data. From SMSY, update the system information once the system entry is created. Once you have all information of your portal system updated in SMSY, create a technical system & logical system for the same. Add the logical system to any solution group. Then you are done.

Shahid Ahmed
