DB_ULTRA_SAFE information

Dear all,

We have a sort of databases running with Oracle Dataguard for Disaster Recovery purposes. With the objective to better protect our data, we are looking for some opportunities and we found in the Oracle documentation that we could setup the parameter DB_ULTRA_SAFE to better protect the database against block corruptions.

But looking at the SAP notes, I only found a specific note for this that mentions it is only released for Pilot users.

1720507 - Block Corruption Prevention and Detection with DB_ULTRA_SAFE

As this note seems to be quite old (2012) and still in version 1, I'd like to check if someone had any experience with that, or even have more information about this feature (maybe pilot users approved by SAP).

Thanks in advance,

Itamar Marioto

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, I opened a message to SAP, and their replied this parameter is still under test and they did not released that for usage yet. For those interested on it, you can open an OSS message and request to be part of the pilot but at this moment only for non-production systems.
