MESSAGE_TYPE_X - Control Framework : Error processing control

Hi All,

Only one user in our system is getting Message_Type_X  ABAP dump error when trying to open F4 for the Date field in the program /SAPSLL/SPL_LIST_DISPLAY_FAST. When I tried with my user, there was no ABAP dump.

I checked the SAP GUI version and it is same for both of us. It is 730 Patch 10.

I changed the Date Format for the user from MM/DD/YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY but still the same issue.

What else could be checked and what could be the issue? Please suggest.

This dumps are usually related to problems with the SAPGui... update your gui to la latest patch level and try again.

The problem was with the SAP GUI and after re-installing, the issue got resolved.

Hello,

Have you check the mode in menu: Help->Settings->F4 and see if there is any difference of the users?

Pay attention to the SAP notes 1168241 and 587202.

The F4 Help in CONTROL mode ( called AMODAL )isn't scriptable.
You must set the F4 Help in th MODAL display variant, otherwise you can not use the scriptiong api.
