When are taxes calculated in RVAXUD - Upon hitting ENTER or SAVE

Hello experts,

We have copy of pricing proc RVAXUD with cal type 500 and 501 assigned to UTXD and UTXE condition types. Per Tax calculation rules, this settings will lead to tax per document. I am under the impression that call to external system will happen only ONCE at the end when we hit SAVE on the sales order. But I dont see this happening. Each time i enter part # and qty and hit enter, system is determining taxes immediately even before I hit SAVE. I have reviewed R/3 Tax Interface configuration guide.

Just wanted to clarify, if my perception is incorrect - for RVAXUD the call to external system happens only once when we hit SAVE on sales order ?
