Able to create for all article types (MM41)

Hi All,

Our functional team is creating articles using MM41 tcode. They were able to do the same for all article types & wanted to restrict for only 2 article types

We asked them to link authorization groups to these two article types which they want to be enabled.

They did the same and I can see the linkage in table T134. I added the same in our role in object M_MATE_MAR.

But still they can create for all article types.

Please provide your valuable inputs on the same

HI Peeyush,

Authorization group will have to be maintained for all Materials and then you put them in say two groups,

Group A: All (minus) those two

Group B: Those two

and then when you will give access to Group B they won't be able to access Group A.

Right now since Auth group is blank for Group A, they can access it as system won't check if there is any auth group maintained and it will bypass that check. (Check in the trace)

Hi Zak,

Thanks for your inputs.

But our functional guys are hesitant to assign  authorization groups to all other article types as it might prevent some of the current jobs/processes to work.

Please advice if there is any other way to achieve the same.
