Work Manager 6.2 localization - Polish language, using the default language pack

Good day everyone!

We have implemented SAP Work Manager 6.2 on SMP 3.0 SP06.

And our WPF Agentry Client is still displaying application in English language - although we proceeded as follows to change the localizations to the Polish one:

Single Language config

1. Configured the SAPWM 6.2 in SMP Management Cockpit appropriately - standard app, no changes, left everything to default

2. We copied ApplicationText.ini, ClientText.ini and Globals.ini from Polish Language Pack and put those in the root folder of the Agentry Deployment ZIP file

3. We configured language and regional settings to PL - in Windows, where the Agentry client is running

4. When we run Agentry Client, it shows in English still.

Alternatively we tried to configure Polish locale as follows:

1. In SMP Admin Cockpit we configured localization path to value of "Languages" (the folder) and locale value to "pl"

2. We put all the Language Packs in Languages folder in the deployment ZIP file, this includes the files: ApplicationText.pl.ini, ClientText.pl.ini and Globals.pl.ini

3. Restarted SMP Server

4. Made sure client Windows PC is configured with Polish Locale and regional settings

5. Once again, alhouth SMP server logs say that Polish locale has been loaded, still Agentry Client renders in English

Can you please help us with fixing this? Should we use any alternative approach?

In this case, we do not even use Eclipse Agentry Editor, as we work with the standard WM 6.2 only.

To check if the change has been applied, we changed one particular value in ApplicationText.ini file:

button.WorkOrderTileView.WorkOrderTileView_Detail_Windows.AddOperations=Dodaj Operacje

This should change the button to add operation to a work order to the Polish meaning. but still in English in the WPF client.

Thanks all, screenshots and logs attached.

Pavel,

For the single language config, when you put the language specific files into the Deployment zip you need to make sure they are named without the .pl in the naming.  For a single language the files need to replace the existing ApplicationText.ini, ClientText.ini and Globals.ini.

When I tested this route and then deployed the new deployment.zip with the polish language files my transmit dialog text was no longer in English as expected.  This was the first time I deployed the deployment.zip file (i.e. a new application id in the cockpit) and I also did not change my regional settings on my laptop with this option since the Application only has a single language the regional settings don't apply.

Can you confirm if this was the process you followed?

Also for reference I am using Server SMP3 SP07 PL02 with Agentry WPF client SDK SP08 PL01.

Hi ,

Thank you! We actually followed the exact same steps and it did not work for us, Agentry Client text during transmit was still in English and so were the fields within the application.

For generating the Deployment ZIP, did you use the production ZIP, as generated by the deployment exe file downloaded from SAP Download Center? And just replace the three files ini files there? And without any changes in the SMP cockpit? Because that is what we did for the single language approach. We did not use Eclipse Agentry Editor at all, just the production zip.

The only difference I can see already is that we have SMP SP06 server – and we tried with the Agentry client from SDK SP06 as well as with the one from SDK SP08 PL01.

Thanks again.

Bill, thanks once again. We upgraded to SMP 3.0 SP07 PL02, went through the same steps as you highlighted above, and now Polish localization works! And we can start modifying the language pack ini files to change the texts ourselves too now.

Thanks,

Pavel
