How to install certificates on non-samsung smartphones with Afaria

Former Member

Hello,

I have an afaria 7 sp5 server with a policy to provide a dynamic ssl for all the Samsung phones connected to the network. But we want to do the same with non-samsung phones (htc, zte, huawei etc..) in order to disable the SSL at any time and block that same device to connect.

How can we do this ? Is this possible with SLL and if yes how ?

Best Regards,

Luis Da Costa

Hi, Luis.

This isn't possible yet for non-Samsung devices with the current on-premise Afaria release.  Devices supporting Android for Work can have certificates delivered with the current Mobile Secure cloud release.  Outside of that, your suggestion of using the Static Link Libary (SLL) would be the only possible way, potentially.  I don't have details on exactly how to write an app to install a certificate for use like you need but I know you can at least request an x509 cert using the SLL.  More details on the using the Android SLL can be found here:
