Dear gurus!
Does anybody know a way to compare the software components level between similar system, for example, belonging to the same logical components?
In our case we have 5 ECC systems ( Sandbox, Development, QA, Production and Preproduction) and we want to be sure that all of them have a same software components level.
Thank you
Regards
Vladimir Kogan
Software Components are change tracked in CCDB. The config store you need for reporting has the the technical name ABAP_COMP_SPLEVEL. As Billy said go to Configuration Validation / Report Execution / Reporting Templates / Consistency Validation. Choose web template with the technical name 0TPL_0SMD_COMPL_PARSEL_1CONFST and start it. You can enter everything via the variables popup.
Variables you need to fill:
Reference System: enter the SID you want to choose as reference
Comparison Systems: enter here the SIDs you want to compare with reference SID. Click on selection icon and then choose the systems (use button transfer to move your selection)
Config Store:enter ABAP_COMP_SPLEVEL
Now Execute the report.
In the report open the navigation block; in free characterics you may want to change the filter for characterics Compliance to No to see only the components which are different.
Other areas usually compared in the same way for this
Kernels: config store SAP_KERNEL
Notes: config store ABAP_NOTES
SPAM Version: config store SPAM_VERSION
TP parameter: config store TRANSPORT_TOOL
prerequisite: Managed System Configuration (as this is a part of the RCA)

Configuration Validation is what you are after - create a comparision list of the systems you want and run one of the consistency validation reports and it should provide a drill down report that you can export to excel.
