Quantity not getting confirmed in sales order

Hi Experts,

Client is facing an issue related to ATP.

User clears the occupied stock from old sales orders and the orders updated later in SAP with same material do not get the quantity confirmed.

Client is facing this problem randomly for any materials. The stock shows up as unrestricted but still not getting confirmed in the sales orders.

Can you suggest what can be the problem and the ways to troubleshoot this case.

Thanks in advance,

Aniket

Hi Aniket,

Some of the common explanations are:

- Customer is looking at MMBE instead of CO09 and thinks there is an available quantity. See SAP note 89362. A simple example for you:

Stock = 10.

Sales Order 1 created with a quantity of 10. And ATP confirms 10.

Sales order 2 created with a quantity of 10. And ATP confirms 0.

ATP cannot confirm anything, as there is nothing available (the stock of 10 is confirmed to order 1). Yet MMBE shows 10 in stock as it has not yet been goods issued. You need to use CO09 to see the available quantity.

- Stock is available at plant level but not at storage location level. A simple example for you:

Plant Stock = 10

Storage Location 1 Stock = 5

Storage Location 2 Stock = 5

Sales Order created with a quantity of 10 and storage location 1 entered. The system here can only confirm 5, not 10.

The same logic applies if you have batches.

- Inconsistent requirements holding the stock. If this is the case, then report SDRQCR21 (See SAP note 25444) could help clear them up.

If none of the above help, then it would be useful if you could post a screenshot of CO09 on here.

Hope this helps,

Noel
