Send alerts to log file

Hi,

We have fully configured SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP12, basic setup & config, Managed System setup(50+ systems) and Technical Monitoring...

Our Third Party Tool ( HP Openview ) is our standard software for reporting on production level alerts.

So, we have configured successfully the BADI to forward alerts to 3rd parties. However HPOV cannot accept our custom alerts using the SAPSPI.

If we could send alerts to the Solution Manager file level ( Windows 2012 server ), then HPOV could read these logs and interpret them as alerts.

So, my question is has anyone configured:

1. Custom descriptions, that have successfully been accepted by the SAPSPI? ( The generated XML from the BADI* shows the custom description already, this is not the issue. The issue is I think with HPOV)

2. Can/how can we send alerts to a log file at O/S level?

Perhaps, I can do it using custom scripts that writes a log file and then reading those keywords from those log files for triggering alerts.

I did something similar using CCMS and same can be taken further using MAI.
