Well i did download the SAPEXEDB  and SAPEXE with   files give below  :

i was able to see that the patch 324 with unicode displayed when we ran disp+work   now after extracting the files and putting in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run   directory now i get patch 510  but i see that it is non unicode.

i would like to get this verified if this was suppose to be non unicode or not.

Thanks

Vijay,

You have NOT downloaded UNICODE packages. The filenames you have shown confirm this.

eg:

SAPEXE_500-10011305.SAR

dw_510-10011305.sar

Files with *10011305* are NON UNICODE.

The correct files would be *10011360* as found under SAP KERNEL 7.21 EXT 64-BIT UC.

Kind Regards,

Amerjit

Hi Vijay,

AS you have downloaded the DW_510-10011305.sar it has extarcted the DW with 510 version but source release you need to check too.

So when you run the disp+work -V you see the patch as 510.

And can you paste the disp+work -V|more in here so that we can confirm you whether unicode or non-unicode.

HI Ram,

THanks appreciate your help.   I did run the disp+work -v | more still it has the same nonunicode 510  shown  i could do only the SAPEXEDB and SAPEXE sar files   hope this could solve as unicode system?

Just to clarify.

Thanks

Hi Vijay,

You may re-check whether downloaded file is Unicode files. also as mentioned by ramkrishna, give disp+work command to check.

Hi Vijay,

Which location you have copied the files in OS level. Also  which OS your using as for the linux x86_64 below are the sap kernel patch files for unicode 7.21 EXT 64bit.

SARSAPEXE_500-10011224.SARKernel Part I (database independent) 500Info 28889930.04.2015
SARSAPSLDREG_418-10011224.SARSAPSLDREG 418Info 839402.03.2015
SARSNMPLIB_313-10011224.SARsnmplib 313Info 531824.06.2014
SARccmagent_510-10011224.sarCCMAGENT 510Info 1860108.05.2015
SARdw_510-10011224.sardisp+work package 510Info 16547808.05.2015
SARdw_utils_420-10011224.sarKernel utilities 420Info 1448527.03.2015

So let us know the details. Also you might have downloaded the wrong kernel if its showing Non-Unicode.

Hi Ram,

Thanks for the information shared.  I have now used the files SAPEXE and SAPEXEDB for patch 500  i did copy the extract to /usr/sap/sid/sys/exe/run   directory       also my exe directory also has nuc and uc directory  as these have linux x-64 bit files only  and my run directory has all the files listed  hence i did replace the files in run directory.  i could see that disp+work show that the patch as 500 but still it shows only non unicode i did run R3trans -d to check connectivity with database MAXDB 7.8    i could see a return code 12  means that the connectivity is not established.

Thanks

Hi Vijay,

Can you please send us the output of disp+work from below directories:-

/usr/sap/<SID>/sys/exe/run

/sapmnt/<SID>/exe/

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVMB*/exe

You need to run the ./disp+work -V|more command every where and check the output.

example:-

cd /usr/sap/<SID>/DVMB*/exe

./disp+work -V|more

Update us the outcome also will request you to overwrite the kernel in above mentioned directories.

Hi Ram,

I did update the files only in /usr/sap/sid/SYS/exe/run   directory  this would be copied by system automatically to

/usr/sap/<SID>/sys/exe/run

/sapmnt/<SID>/exe/

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVMB*/exe

this is what happens.  correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks

Hi

Have you downloaded right kernel from service market place?  From the log its show Non-Unicode kernel.

Once again download the Non-unicode kernel from SMP and then upgrade

Hi Ram

I did look into the trans.log i could see that dbslsdb.cpp is c plus plus could be a header file. having issues is this something related to R3trans -d  database connectivity.

Thanks
