hi Raghu,

follow the steps:

1.stop all the services - make sure that no services running

2.start the listener

3.open your alert<SID>log.ora file to see the ongoing changes to file

4.logon with user who has oracle/dba credentials

5.start the database in parts .....

6.at SQL>startup nomount .. then

7.SQL>alter database mount ... see what is writing to logfile

8.SQL>alter database open.... see the alertlogfile for errors - FIX yourself or send it to forum if u need help.

9.If you are able to make database up& running then your sap should start without issues.

your ORacle DB takes too much time to start and SAP tries to start too fast.

so, start ORacle, make sure it is available and usable and then start SAP.

when you try to start, are you getting error messages or is it just hanging... also supply alert_SID.log as Vinod asked you.

Hi,

Please check if Oracle is up and running and your oracle listner services are running OK.

If above things look good, please check R3trans -d.
