Refer to SAP note 965145 to install 4.6C systems on 64bit

The upgrade of a 32-bit SQL Server 2000 that is running on a 64-bit machine to a 64-bit SQL Server 2005 is not supported. You must install a new 64-bit instance of SQL Server 2005 and follow homogenenous system copy in order to migrate to ANOTHER server.

ECC5/6 on SQL2005 also requires a new collation set (SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2) this is to support unicode languages.

You will also need SMT from sapnet to help with the convertion (SQL migration tools).

Hi Alberto,

Is your OS on x64 or IA64 ?

SAP KERNEL 4.6D_EXT 64-BIT and SAP KERNEL 4.6C 64-BIT are not maintained for MSSQL and SAP KERNEL 4.6D 64-BIT only on IA64.

Check on service.sap.com/pam.

I think you have to stay on 32 bits kernel.

Seb

thanks Seb.

on x64 .

- It is correct. "SAP KERNEL 4.6D_EXT 64-BIT and SAP KERNEL 4.6C 64-BIT are not maintained for MSSQL ..."

BUT

I have understood that it is possible (install 46c on windows2003/64) while the upgrade is making

(excuse for my English)

Somebody has installed 46c/SQL Server in Windows 2003/64??

Alberto,

You can install your 46C 32 bits on Windows x64 and MSSQL 2005 64 bits.

Then, I think there's no problem to upgrade your 46C to ECC 6 64 bits.

Regards,

Seb
