Thanks all...I've solved the problem placing the media software in a shared folder instead of the desktop.

Hi Narsimha

Please assign full permission to /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/host_profile and /usr/sap/tmp. This should resolve your issue.

Hello Damian,

1. HDB with 8GB of memory !!!!

2. Make sure hanadb can be resolved as per the error in your log.

3. Check your filesystem space (you've put all your source files in /root/Desktop).

# df -h

4. Check that the HOSTAGENT.tgz is still readable with tar -tvf HOSTAGENT.TGZ (don't tink this will be the problem as we can see files are being extracted from the .TGZ)

5. Don't bother with REV91, install a more recent REV.

Hello Nghia,

I don't have at machine to hand to test this out.

1. Could you upload your install log even though I imagine it will be the same or similar as Damian.

2. Can you confirm you followed OSS #2023163 for the tar archives.

3. Can you try and manually extract from the archive (create a new dir in /tmp and try it there). Do this as <sidadm>. Don't think the archive is a problem but let's just eliminate that possibility.

eg:

cd /tmp/YYY

tar -xvzf <software source path>/HOSTAGENT.TGZ

4. Can you check the permissions of the directories/files in the target directory.

/hana/shared/XXX/global/hdb and post the output.

The above is just a first level check to see what things look like.

Cheers,

Amerjit
