DB02 difference between source and target

Good morning,

i've performed an heterogenous system copy from solaris to linux about an SAP 7.01 system with oracle 10.2.0.5 to oracle 11.2.0.4.

After migration i've noted some differences in db02 trx.

Finding a segment_name and filtering for name...for example *CATALOG* i can see that the number of tables is different ...In target system i can see the tables not empty while other table empty in  target, in db02, doesn't appear. The same tables in source system are visible in db02 trx,

If i go in se14 (target) i can see that they exists also in database.

Note that when I perform an: select count(*) from user_tables ; this gives the same result for both source and target system.

Customer tests the new system migrated without problems...anyway it seems a strange behaviour.

What do you think?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

It is because of the tech as mentioned in SAP note 1583303. So if there is no entries in a table, then
you cannot get information from dba_segments. DB02 get table information from dba_segments oracle view.

But you can get information from dba_tables.

Best regards,
James
