Spare Parts Planning is completely different concept from standard APO method of Demand Planning (DP).
Planning services are mostly performed using TSDM rather than Livecache.
SPP is not Traditional APO DP.
For Demand Planning in SPP you need to do the following settings in short.
Configure Demand Capture and Management (Predefined DSOs and Cubes were delivered by SAP to which you've to load your histories) no where you'll create Planning Area , Planning Books, MPOS etc as you do in Traditional DP.
Configure General/Basic Settings for SPP
Configure Forecast related settings like Service Profiles, General Settings,AMS, Initialization, smoothing factors, Phase In Phase Out --- This will replace the Master Forecast Profile, Promotion, LifeCycle planning etc in Traditional DP.
Configure PSM Services.
Execute Demand Capture --> Realignments -->Forecasitng using PSM engines.
