MRP not considering available stock for requirements from PS

Dear Experts,

We are using SAP PS for our client and facing issue in stock determination while MRP run.

For the material used, unrestricted stock is available. There is a reservation created for the material through PS requirement. The reservation created is lesser than the available unrestricted stock.

At the time of MRP run, system is creating procurement proposal i.e. purchase requisition for the PS requirement. The unrestricted stock is not considered for fulfilling the demand from project.

We want the system to consider the total stock available and need not to create the procurement proposal by ignoring available stock for projects.

Your inputs are highly appreciated.

Hi Gokul,

If a reservation is created for the material, what is the account assignment category you are using. if there is account assignment category enabled in teh requirement class, then obviously there will be MRP creating PR and PO further on.

If you want the stock to be consumed by the requirement, there should not be any specific reservation. if that is the case you should enable the Consumption value to be empty in the requirement class. If this is done, things will work fine without any problem.

Also in the availability check for the material, you should enable the Unrestricted stock to be considered to evaluate the availability of materials.

Please check this once and confirm.

Thanx for your reply.

We have tried these suggested suggested. But not working.

Checking rule:- 01

MRP 4 :- Ind./Collective " " (Blank) means it will consider both

MRP controller is assigned in material.

MRP type :- PD

We want to know, is there any standard SAP note or BADI available to achieve this.

Also will be helpful if suggestion for Z-development also.

hi Gokul.

Please check the WBS of project stock and WBS on which you are running MRP. If both are different than it will create new PR.

Did you check the assigning of dummy MRP controller to the operation.Beacuse we are also using SAP-PS and bringing teh project stock to inventory.But we are not getting the P.Rs for the same.

You will get the popup screen after assigning the operation as shown.

Here you need  to enter the exclusive MRP controller of project system.As we did same way like plant wise Z10 -  MRP FOR XXXX .This is excldued in MRP run.

Please check material master > MRP4>  Individual/coll.

in this field you might have individual requirements.

Kindly check the MRP controller that assigned to a network operation in project.if you do not want to run MRP for project planning, use dummy MRP controller and try.
