Communication Channel creation(dummy channels)

Hi,

We installed SAP NW 7.3 and planning to setup dummy communication channels for monitoring. We are OK with any type of channels to be shown up in "PI Communication channel monitoring".please suggest any documnet or process to follow. please this is little urgent.

I have configured "configuration wizard" settings .

1.  Check SLD

2.  Ensure SLD is connected to right server in SAPAPICUST

3.  Ensure Business Systems are defined in SLD.

could you check what is the output of transaction sld_check? if it has an error, could you paste it here?

Please find below SLD check output:

Exchange Infrastructure: Test LCR Connection

Communication mode: HTTP only (WBEM client)

SLD destination settings:

  Alias:       SAP_CONFIG

  Host name:   xxxxxxxxx

  Port number: 50000

  User:        SLD_CL_SP3

Use transaction SLDAPICUST if you wish to maintain the SLD server access data

Launching the SLD GUI in a separate browser window...

=> Verify in the browser GUI that the SLD is in a healthy running state!

Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS

Retrieving data from the SLD server...

Function call terminated sucessfully

List of business systems maintained in the SLD:

  SAPBS_NW_1709

Calling function LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM

Retrieving data from the SLD server...

No corresponding business system found for system SP3      client 001

=> Check and maintain the SLD content for the current client

Summary: Connection to SLD works technically, but the SLD content may need maintenance

=> Check and maintain the SLD data content

Hi Sivakoti,

I haven't so clear your requeriment if you create dummy communication channels it will not be useful their monitoring. You can create all the channel that you want with http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/48/d0066d05ae154ee10000000a421937/frameset.htm but the channels won't be used. I suggest to create a dummy scenarios to test all the processes form begin to end.

Hi Sivakoti,

Sivakoti Reddy has provided to you a good example, i think the problem is that you are using business system instead of business component (business service), if you use business systems you would need to parametrized them in SLD.

You can do a mock SOAP service SOAP to SOAP or SOAP to RFC, in this way i test the PI enviroments You can find a lot of guides:

Dear Sivakoti,

You can create a simple File to File dummy scenario for testing and monitoring.Just take a file from one path and transfer another path of your system.If all are fine then created File channel automatically  shown in RBW and you can monitor transferred data in SXMB_MONI.

Hi Arthita,

I'm configuring the FiletoFile scenario. I did configurations till Step2. in step3 unable to find "Business service" in version NW731. I used "Business component" in place and i assigned Sender and receiver.

Please suugest for below error.

While creating Communication channels, getting below error:

HTTP connection to http://HOSTNAME:50000/sap/xi/cache?sap-client=001 returns status code '400' (Cannot determine business system name for system SID, client &CLIENT&: Could not find business system) in response

Hi Arthitha,

When creating Sender communication channel (page 18) , i'm unable to get alist of Adapter to select "File". Please suggest any changes/settings are required for this.

Dear Sivakoti,

First create the file channel without party, means don't put any value like '*' in Party.

And ask your basis team for the above issue, there may be some settings missing.
