Client Copy Hanging When Try to Start Immediately in Background (TIME_OUT)

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

We want to perform local client copy from client 100=>101

However, the client copy is hanging when we want to kick start immediately in background.

Reproduction Steps;

1. Login to newly created client 101 by SAP*, pass

2. Call T-code SCCL. Click Schedule as Background Job

3. Check 'Immediately' box, then press 'Schedule Job'

4. Screen is hanging, then give us TIME_OUT after sometimes

5. Increased parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time=>7200 (2 hours) in instance profile. Restart SAP MMC

6. Still hit the same TIME_OUT error after 2 hours.

Could you please advise

BR,

Fadzly Iqbal

Hello,

You have two option either by increasing your BG work process to 6 or more and then try to run your local client copy.

or

Changing the parallel process to 3 or 2.

Default client copy parallel process has 6.

Thanks

Dear all,

Thank you for your reply.

I have done all the suggestion but still the process hang in table FINB_TR_TCATAL.

Then, I decided to restart the server and run again the client copy. The issue was solved and client copy was successfully completed.

Hi Iqbal,

If it cancels out after 2 hours and your parameter rdisp/wp_max_runtime is 7200 seconds it means it is actually kicking it off in the foreground.

First check if you have any background processes free at the time and that jobs/are not in suspended mode. If background processes are available select background server and click on start immediately.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

I think the problem is client copy not started yet.

It is currently stuck in table FINB_TR_TCATAL in dialog process

Therefore, it does not go to background process

Can anyone advise me how to fix this table?

Hi,

Is there any tablespace or anything that is full perhaps?

If not perhaps cancel it and restart the client copy.

Hi Iqbal

1.  Could you share the time out dump as text format?

2. At the time of releasing the Client copy BG job select as "Schedule as Background Job"  select the job class as "A" and then select time within a minite or same time.
