SUM ERROR

Dear All,

I want to update the support patch of ECC6.0 through SUM tool.

But when i select the xml file on that point getting error like

" Stack definition file F:\SUM\abap\stack.xml is rejected. Provide a new stack definition file and try again. java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.equalsIgnoreCase(java.lang.String) of a null object returned from com.sap.sdt.util.xml.XMLElementIF.getContentTrimmed() "

Please help me.

Hi,

Is this possible to genrate the xml for other system,

You could use same stack.xml file only & if other system in your landscape are on same support pack levels.For this you need to modify the stack.xml in terms of SID,host name & system number.

Best would be to follow SAP note 1600302 - MOPZ: Copy stack xml with a report as already suggested by Gaurav.

Hi James,

I checked the marked sap note but unable to do that activity.

I am unable to find the SID in that xml file to change with another SID.

have any idea ?.

Hi Santosh,

As per recommended go with marked note.If your still unable to change SID.Another option(follow as below)

In XML file go to find and replace option(ctrl+f) click on replace .you can give SID in Find what field and replace with current SID and click replace all.

Hi,

Stack definition file F:\SUM\abap\stack.xml is rejected.

Is the system correctly maintained under Solution Manager for which you're using stack.xml file>suggest you to share verification check results for the specified system & re-generate the stack.xml again.

If any error comes during generation of stack.xml you could share for analysis.

Hi Santosh,

If you have a similar system for which you have already generated the stack.xml then
you could use the below note to copy the stack.xml for new system.
