Data Manager Limitation.

Hello Experts,

I wonder if there is any limitation in Data Manager. I am asking because I try to generatte a Report using DATA MANAGER, but after about 30 mins running the package it fails showing the next error:

Task name TRANSACTION DATA SOURCE:

MDX statement error: An error occurred when getting data from the processor.

model: PRESUPUESTO. Package status: ERROR

or the other says

(Content was truncated)

any idea if DATA Manager has any limitations.

You can get the detailed version in UJFS transaction.

I am Trying to run CPMB/EXPORT_TD_TO_FILE. After I got the error I am not able  to run the package anymore.

what do you mean by detailded version? :S

Hi Sebastian,

In the log there will mention a path of the log file.

now goto your BW/BPC system, enter UJFS

use the path to find your file there.

Right now I am not able to open the DM, I am guessing bc I did a huge selection, just for stock dimension it was 94,000+ memebers.

How do I erase the previous selection? so i can run the package with empty selection?

What do you mean by erase?

You can just run the package again.

It is the problem now. I can´t run the package bc the previuos selection (that was a huge selection)  got saved by itself.

it doesn't have the selection <all> but the previos selection i did. when I select run, the package get stuck.

how do i restart the selection to the default.??

mm ok, maybe try to log off then log on?

or even reboot your pc?

It should always ask you to select what you want to export.

Which version of EPM add on?

I am on EPM 10 SP17. I already reboot even the SERVER but it doesn't erase the previos selection.

ok, try the new EPM software. latest is SP21 patch 1.

and whats your BPC backend patch level?

Thank you very much for your help,

Indeed the package couldn't run because the selection was too big. What I did to erase the preview selection was:

1. Erase in BW the Master data contained in Stock (Stock is the dimension that hast the most amountt of members).

2. Create 2 memebers for stock.

Done this the package doen't find the stock members as last selection and erased it from the selection.

Now that I am able to run the package again, any idea of the restrictions?'

Hi Sebastian,

Maybe its the old cached files on your PC, you can also try to delete the folder PC_NW under my documents.

Hello Sebastian,

The only DM limitation I know of is that you cannot use <all> for all the dimensions.  You have to filter at least some dimensions.  The reason is to make sure that DM packages complete within a reasonable amount of time and the they don't exhaust the memory on the server.
