Hi,
I am trying to add a new system(which is already in the managed systems configuration) to the ITSM in Solution Manager.
Charm & ITSM are already configured in Solman for other systems in the landscape. The DEV system has clients 100, 200, 300, 400, QAS has clients 100 & 200 and PRD has client 100.
Could you help in creating transport routes to use Charm & ITSM functionality of the solution manager ? We are using Solman 7.1 SP08
Thanks in advance for the help.
Hi Venu,
Transport routes should be created as per your client requirement for example you can set up the tms as below You can proceed as follow
Dev (100)->QAS (100)->PRD (100)
Dev (XXX)->QAS (XXX)
Now if the transport is created in 100 client and you want to move the same transport to other clients of dev and quality system via Charm you can schedule auto import job for other client specific to charm project it will solve the purpose.
Now for charm the main route could be Dev (100)->QAS (100)->PRD (100), create a logical component assign the corresponding 100 client's development system as Dev, Quality system as QAS and production as PRD,
Include that logical component in your charm project and then run the consistency check,

Hi Venu,
Transport routes for charm will be governed by the systems you add into logical components and the role you assign it to them
You can define the transport routes accordingly,
However it will depend on the client how they want their transport movement and in which clients you want to move the changes before it will reach out to production system.
Its always recommendable to keep it simple. So if the charm is already active in your landscape, please see the logical components being assigned to it. That will be the transport route charm will follow. You can move the transports in other clients through import jobs.
Please let me know if you need further help.
Thanks
Rishav
