'The session has timed out - please log in again.' error when clicking certain

I obtain the error 'The session has timed out - please log in again.' when clicking Input Help on certain fields (i.e. ME51N, 'A' column) consistently.  Even when I log in and immediately try the transaction. 

Per the blog, , I installed Firebug and tracked the errors obtained.  The first error I receive when in debug mode is:

This issue was resolved when I installed PER 2.0 SP3.

...which means that probably the system wasn't fully up-to-date, missing some notes that have been incorporated into SP3.
