HCM Implementation for multi-company codes

Dear experts,

I am trying to understand the SAP implementation steps and strategy to be planned for one of my clients who are involved in 4 different businesses. That means, 4 company codes. In this scenario, all 4 companies have different org structure, different payroll, different time management processes. However, the common factor is the corporate structure who monitors all the 4 companies.

Can someone share their experience about how this is implemented? Any SAP help documentation that highlights this scenario or any important aspects that need to be taken care of in such implementations? Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Normally a group-wide (similarly global, then country wide) implementation template is made, then adapted to any individual company.

For implementation, it is advisable to do it in stages, using one company first (or even a part of a company).  Thus issues would be sorted out in one company, any changes in the templates can be made; then the other companies can be implemented using the experience gained earlier.

Further this would be a good opportunity to analyze is/to-be processes instead of just implementing as they are.
