ORACLE 11204 to 12C Upgrade-

Dear Experts-

I  have started the ./dbua.sap.sh for the oracle upgrade and accidentally the update screens got closed in pre-upgrade, The Database has gone to Idle state, Please guide me for options if we can resume the process.

I have also started the upgrade again and getting.

Database is not open. Restart database in open mode and try again.

Hello Balaji,

Shut-down the database and try to open the database again. If the database is not open then check the oracle home. share the more information error if you not able to start the database again.

Hi,

Database is not open. Restart database in open mode and try again.

In your situation now database needs recovery,so suggest you to follow below steps first.

1.Take backup of existing control files

2.Start DB in mount state with command > startup mount ;

3.>recover database

4.After that try to open the DB with alter database open ;

If DB opened successfully then you could try your process again,in case any issues please share alert_<SID>.log as well.
