SAP GUI and JAVA 8 compatibility issues

Hi All,

We have installed SAP GUI 7.40 on users' machines. It came to our notice that for some users SAP GUI 7.40 does not get instlled.

We did all the checking(uninstalled and installed the components from scratch) and found that when JAVA 8 is installed on user's machine SAP JNet and SAP Gantt does not get installed and hence SAP GUI 7.40 is not installed. So we uninstalled JAVA 8 and installed SAP GUI 7.40 and it worked fine.

But in some cases JAVA 8 is mandatory for the user to run other application. So we have a requirement where in we need JAVA 8 as well as SAP  GUI 740.

Kindly suggest how this requirement can be met.

Dear Deepika,

JNet/JGantt requires the AxBridge that has been discontinued in Java 8. This is why it cannot be installed when Java 8 is installed and the default on a client machine. There is a new implementation of JNet/JGantt that is described in SAP note 2103687. Please implement this note and remove JNet/JGantt from the package you use for distributing SAP GUI.
