Two oracle instances on a single server

Hi,

We are using windows OS and i have installed SRM in my development server. Now i am going to install TREX in the same server, which are going to use different databases.

In that case, will there be any conflict with listener. Should the listener port be same or different for both the databases.

How to go about having two oracle databases running smoothly in a single server.

Hi,

TREX dosent require any database if you have enough resources (more ram and CPU)or limited resources (no additional server for TREX) i prefer you go with this type of installation.

more over TREX need not to have any extra database instance.

in my case i have installed both on one server.

Hi Sailesh,

normally we don't recommend to install the TREX with Oracle on the same host due of known performance/stability issues.

Pls read this note 98252, seems no need to have different port. It will connect to different TNS connection
