Hi Experts,

    Question regarding additional characteristics values selection for specific class for material creation...

A. The requirement is like while creating the material, user will check the characteristics values respect to the class added. If user need some additional characteristics values which is not present so far. By clicking one button like "Request" on NWBC page itself (which needs to be created), the request for characteristic values will go to some specific team. Until those characteristic values updated by that team, the entire change request will be in save mode.

B. Once those values will be available in F4 help, then user will proceed the request to submit and there after the MDG WF will start and will go for next level of approval and bla bla.

Here my specific asking is,

1. Is it possible to achieve point number A in current MDG?

2. If yes, which will be the best approach to do that?

It is not possible with the existing set to create the class and characteristic value on run with present set up ,as this set will effcect the QM set during the supply chain execution.

  Technically speaking you can do custom development and try achive this but not recommended step.

   Is it possible like...

There will be one check box available on NWBC screen. If Requester really looking for Additional Characteristic values, He can checked it and in the Note, he can provide the required values for specific fields.

   Then the CR will go to a specific team called TEAM A. And that team will validate that request and will insert the values externally. And will approve for rest of the processes.

But if Requester will not check the given check box, the CR will not go the TEAM A and it will directly follow the normal step which designed.

In short:

If Characteristics Values are required, Make a mark in Check Box

Requester -> Team A -> Verifier -> Approver

If Characteristics Values are not required, not need to mark in Check Box

Requester -> Verifier -> Approver

If it is possible to do, then pls provide some useful idea & document on this to follow.
