Upgrade SAP GRC AC 10.1

Former Member

Hello

In the document Upgrade Guide SAP® Access Control 10.0 to 10.1, GRCPINW versions given are V1100_700 & 731, whereas in the OSS note 1821368, it seems V1000_700 & 731 are enough for GRC Plug-in environnements.

For the moment, we are in V1000_700 & 731 in the latter.

Thus, can you please confirm we don't need to upgrade Plug-in environnements in order to install the new GRC version.

Regards

Hi Juan,

I would deploy the GRC 10.1 plug in component into the target system if you are upgrading to GRC 10.1. The reason I say this is because not all GRC 10.1 SAP OSS notes are downported to 10.0. The logic and coding of some of the program functions is different in 10.1.

The SAP note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1821368 you refer to is talking about how the GRC components GRCFND_A and GRCPINW had to be on the same support pack levels up until patch level 10 (on GRC 10.0).

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1662113 and http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1590030 refers to the co-existance of GRC 5.3 and 10.0 (and 10.1) plug-ins on the same target system (not to be confused with coexistance of 10.0 and 10.1).

The note you really need to be having a look at is http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1352498. This has a Excel spreadsheet attached that details the compatibility between the GRCFND_A component and the GRCPINW component.

In short, if you are upgrading to GRC AC 10.1, the I strongly recommend you install the 10.1 GRCPINW component onto the target system.

I hope this answers your query and clears any doubt you have.

Cheers
