Data Extraction And Upload of Original Documents from Document Info Record in SAP.

Hi SAP Gurus, We have a requirement in our account, to extract Document Originals linked to Document Info Record (CV03n) from SAP R/3 system. We are able to get the path of the originals, but not the physical file linked to the  Document Info Record. The content server of the extraction system is different from the content server that these documents have to be uploaded to (ECC 6.0). We also want to know the approach to upload the originals also into the target SAP ECC 6 system. We are not looking forward to the conventional method of Downloading the file to desktop and then uploading it to the new content server. More details are attached in the document. Could you please help us if you have already worked in similar kind of activity & have any content/templates to share….. Appreciate your help in this regard…..

Hi,

Solution-1 :You can used ALE Function to transfer DIR from one system to another system. Tcode BDA5,pre requiste --> setup partner profiles for inbound and outbound.

Solution-2 : you can check with your ABAPer to find BAPI --> BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 and customize as per your requirement.

Dear All,

Shall I assume that Download from 4.6 system and then Upload to ECC6 system is the only option available in this case?

The catch here is that the server name is the same. and so we are downloading and uploading to the same server. All such entries are doubling the space consumption on the same server.
